Brownsville Porter Wins 5A State Soccer Championship
The Mexican kids from Brownsville Porter beat Coppell to become state champs. I'm sure Coppell has Mexican kids too, but having lived in both regions, I can tell you that South Texas lacks in formal soccer training (especially compared to the Dallas area). Coppell is a suburb of Dallas.
Congratulations to Browsville Porter!

Congrats to them Porter kids, my familia lives around that area. Actually, they live closer to Lopez High School, pero, it's good to hear they kicked some ass.

Actually, modern soccer training regimens have started to take hold and bear fruit for Valley teams. This coupled with the inherent place soccer has on the Mexican-American youth will bear more and more success.
Congratulations Porter!

Lopez High School won state in the 4-A Division two years ago...maybe I am sulking (being a proud lobo alumna) but it seems like Porter is getting more frenzy than Lopez did. I am proud of the Porter kids (we're all Brownsville after all!) but next year is going to be exciting as Lopez enters the 5-A division...Lopez, Rivera and Porter compeiting against each other for one division spot to go to state...orale!
